This has been a great weekend for television!
I was able to see M3GAN, the horror movie, from the comfort of home. It’s a movie about a four-foot doll designed as the hot new toy to bond with a child. M3GAN is designed to learn from her experiences, and her primary motive is to protect the child she bonded with from all harm, physical or emotional. Many of the scenes were truly delightful, and the ending was satisfying. This is on the lighter side of horror films, more about the problem of technology than supernatural horror.
I also watched an entire series called The Consultant. This one had me scratching my head for what the arc of the series would be. Lots of twists and turns that pushed me to think about what pragmatic choices might turn us down bad moral paths. If you want the darker side of humanity, The Consultant comes closer to it than M3GAN.
Snowy, cold winter days are perfect for watching television, curling up with a good book, or writing. I’ve started on a new story – always an exciting moment.
Happy watching, happy reading, happy hobbying.
