Hello world!

    Kate Dane here.

I’ve got one book out, a paranormal romance about a logical lady lawyer who doesn’t believe in magic. When she accidentally leashes a werewolf, she discovers she’s a sorceress. The two of them are soon fighting and fleeing werewolves, while trying to find a mysterious pendant.

I have another story in progress on Kindle Vella where a sister is haunted by her dead sister’s ghost and determined to find the lover involved in her sister’s death.

I’m finally posting my website while I continue writing in my magical worlds. I hope you’ll come visit and join my adventures.

My latest personal adventure is my very icy driveway. Here in Minnesota, warmer days are a good thing because our giant snowbanks melt. But warmer days are often followed by colder days, Thus, the melted snow turns into ice. Ice with melted snow atop is slippery in the extreme. I’ve avoided falling so far by doing the penguin waddle, but there are lots of potential snow days left.

The last book I read, which even kept my mind off the ice, was Monsters Born and Made by Tanvi Berwah. This young adult fantasy novel involves a deadly chariot race, where the “horses” are monsters who will gladly kill charioteers and spectators. I was totally swept up by the world and the increasingly desperate situation of the heroine in a world where rebels face overpowering elites ruthless in their hold on power. Some of the monsters made me think of cats, docile and friendly sometimes, hissing and dangerous at others. (But the book’s monsters are considerably more deadly.)

I’m currently reading Lightlark by Alex Aster, another young adult fantasy novel, where there is a deadly game played by six rulers. I’m starting to see a theme in my recent reading. Tournaments involving death battles. This one is also compelling, and waiting to see how all resolves will be hard.

    ‘Bye for now.
